Windows Protected Your PC?

Category : News

When installing any of our updated software you may see the following warning:-

Ironically this is because we’ve made our software MORE secure. Since early 2019 we have started code signing all of our programs. The warning appears because Microsoft want to encourage developers into buying “extra trust” (Yes we can pay extra to have this warning removed immediately). We believe that trust is earned, not bought. By code signing our programs we are ensuring that what you download is what we have intended for you to download. IF any of our programs do anything nasty in the background then we can’t blame anybody else, we SMTP Software Ltd are 100% responsible. Simply put it just doesn’t, we have zero interest in writing malicious code. All our programs are Virus scanned before uploading and we only write code to do what we intend, that is why we are happy to code sign all our software. We are a registered company and have responsibilities.

In order to install our software you will need to click on the “More Info” text which will confirm SMTP Software Ltd as the publisher, if this says anything else please don’t run the installer and report it to us (support@smtpsoftware.com) If it does confirm the publisher as SMTP Software Ltd you are safe to click on the Run Anyway button. Again by code signing our programs you can be sure that what you have downloaded is what we intended, it will have been virus scanned and we ensure 100% that none of our programs contain anything malicious.

By going through this process and by our software only doing what it is supposed to do you are helping us build the trusted status in an organic way. If you have any questions about this please feel free to contact us at support@smtpsoftware.com

It seems that users have been flocking away from Yahoo’s e-mail service ever since news broke of a major security issue affecting millions of users accounts. For a company looking for a buyer (at the best possible price) losing large numbers of users is not a good thing! In what is totally unrelated (cough cough) news Yahoo Mail has disabled the automatic forwarding of e-mail. So say for example you no longer wished to use Yahoo as a primary e-mail address you could have setup an account with one of their competitors and then had your old Yahoo mail auto forwarded to your new address? But not any longer, some people have seen this as a desperate attempt by Yahoo to stop the mass migration of e-mail users. Is there a solution to this problem?

Easy Mail Forwarding Gets The SSL Update

Category : News

Following on from the update to CheckMail, Easy E-Mail Forwarding has now also been updated to make it compatible with the latest hardened web servers. Whilst we did this we fixed several other small bugs and have identified several improvements we’d like to make in the short to medium term. Easy E-Mail Forwarding is STILL the best way of forwarding mail between accounts without relying on 3rd party servers or exposing recipient account details to the source e-mail service. Everything is controlled via your desktop computer with any passwords fully encrypted.
